Most international students show up in Michigan, completely alone. They get off the plane, exhausted and terrified to go through customs then get on a bus that drops them off, sometimes a mile or more away from their apartment. They then carry their multiple suitcases to their leasing office, get a key and then enter an empty apartment: no bed, no cup for water. They close the door…and they are alone.
